Great food and service, at Charlotte airport in Terminal E , enjoyed the live music , food was good , service was excellent, had the loaded chicken and got tots instead of mashed potatoes, tots were great , broccoli was good , chicken was a little tough but liked the cheese and bacon on it , hope to be back soon with more time , thank you !
Whiskey River at Charlotte Douglas Airport offered a truly unique atmosphere—definitely a standout among typical airport dining options. The rustic-meets-modern vibe, combined with live music and a lively bar, makes it feel more like a destination restaurant than just a quick airport stopover. One of the biggest highlights of my visit was the live music. The artist performing during my meal was exceptionally talented and really elevated the whole experience. It gave the space a great energy and made waiting for my flight genuinely enjoyable. It’s rare to find such quality entertainment inside an airport! When it came to the food, I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes. Everything served was generous—especially for an airport restaurant—and the flavors were solid. I didn’t feel like I was being shorted just because it was a quick-grab meal while traveling. That said, the service could have been better. It wasn’t terrible, but definitely slower than expected, especially considering airport travelers are usually on tighter schedules. The staff was friendly enough, but there seemed to be a staffing shortage that affected the speed of both seating and food delivery. It’s something I hope they improve because the rest of the experience was worth it. Prices are what you’d expect at the airport—slightly higher than normal, but nothing outrageous. For the portion sizes and the overall vibe, I felt it was fair. Cleanliness was also on point. The tables were wiped down promptly, and while the floors weren’t spotless, they were relatively clean and definitely not a concern. For a high-traffic airport venue, they’re doing a decent job keeping things in order. Overall, I’d probably visit Whiskey River again if they’re a bit better staffed. The atmosphere, live music, and satisfying food make it a worthwhile stop if you’ve got some time to spare during a layover. Not perfect, but definitely one of the better airport dining experiences I’ve had.
The burger was pretty good, and the Long Island iced tea was perfect. Pricey, as expected. I was surprised that the server didn’t take any details on how I wanted my burger, I had to confirm that he received the request. Luckily I didn’t mind the egg over easy on my burger.
I ordered the club sandwich and a Bloody Mary. The drink was pleasant although it could have used a touch more alcohol. The sandwich was a classic club, bread was toasted well (not burnt) and the vegetables tasted fresh, while the meat finished it off. It was filling and I felt as though I got my moneys worth. I was pleasantly surprised by the fries, which had a “bbq” seasoning which turned out to be quite tasty, for me that is. Overall, I’d stop here again. For awareness, during my visit, it did take quite some time to be seated. No identifiable hosts and the woman who sat the group before me, never came back and continued to wait tables. The woman who sat me, ended up waiting on me and others as well. There’s also no signage or direction as to where you may seat yourself, other than the bar.
Excellent sit down dining at Charlotte Airport. Waiter was a friendly PRO server = Alonzo. Food came out very quickly, fresh cooked - smothered chicken w a sweet savory tequila bbq sauce. Comfort food done well. Live music, great singing popular adult contemporary w acoustic guitar. Nice comfotable atmosphere, plenty of TVs
Convenient location in the E Concourse at the Charlotte Douglas airport. Friendly service that was quick and attentive. I had the Buffalo Wings plain, cooked well done and with the BBQ sauce on the side. The chef was on point and got the order complete and correct. Not to bad for airport dining on the go. Thanks Whisky River for a good experience.
The drinks was strong but not the right flavor. The nachos were huge and I was stuffed. But I saw someone's burger and I think that might been a better option!
